Internal and External Documentation Sets


EOS Worldwide trains entrepreneurial minded business consultants to
run their own Implementer businesses, which in turn help entrepreneurial companies run their businesses better.

Their documentation set covers everything from training manuals and guides for running sessions with clients, to all the tools needed for clients to implement our system. Their suite of training options includes a boot camp course, specialized workshops on business development and facilitation, video lessons, and guides for working with clients. In total the materials I managed include over 30 manuals, guides, and workbooks as well as hundreds of supporting Power Points, templates, and summary sheets.

During my time at EOS, I modernized the printed materials, initiated a content reuse strategy, and began a project to localize all materials into five languages.

The ALLEXis project was under way when I joined Mettler-Toledo AutoChem. I inherited a 14 page quick reference and a partial online help file. I reviewed the existing documentation and investigated the project and user needs. I was able to condense the vital information down to 4 page quick reference. Then, I expanded the online help file and added user guide.

The MiniMapper project was originally handled separately from the ALLEXis project. When the project manager saw the intermediate changes I was making for ALLEXis, he requested that I take over MiniMapper as well. Both products were new and built on the same platform, so we planned a similar documentation set. I completed and edited the existing user guide, then created a quick reference and online help.

Tools used include Quark XPress, RoboHTML and Microsoft Word.

Technical papers


The group at AutoChem often presented technical posters at trade shows. I assisted in layout, editing, and printing. While we didn't use formal content management, I found ways to repurpose much of the research and technical content. One of the posters I pulled together was reformatted for print in JALA, Volume 8 number 2, April 2003.

libraries and research


For one of my courses at Drexel I prepared a "Information Access and Resources Annotated Bibliography." This assignment was to conduct research on a chosen topic and create an annoted bibliography. I chose to research Corporate Libraries in Support of Compliance and Governance.

Shannon has a solid comprehension of authoring and production tools. She is smart and driven - she works well with others and handles situations with diplomacy and tact.
